Collection: Combination

No keys to lose

Combination padlocks remove key administration entirely. Set a code, and that's it — nothing to issue, nothing to collect back, nothing to cut a replacement for.

Who this suits

  • School and gym lockers — students set their own code, nothing to lose in a change room
  • Staff lockers — no key issuing, no returns when someone leaves
  • Tool boxes and site storage — shared access without shared keys
  • Luggage and travel

Prices shown are for single padlocks — bulk pricing applies from four locks up.

What to look for

  • Resettable codes so you can change them when someone leaves or a code gets shared
  • Key override models where staff need to open a locker when a code is forgotten — worth having, because forgotten codes are more common than lost keys
  • Multiple colours for separating year levels, departments or crews
  • Dial face or wheel type — dials are more secure, wheels are faster to use

The trade-off

Combination locks are generally lower security than a comparable keyed padlock, and codes get shared in ways keys don't. They also can't be keyed alike or master keyed, so there's no way to give a supervisor access to everything except by using key override models.

For anything of real value, or where you need controlled access, a keyed lock is the better answer.

Need one key across many locks? See factory keyed alike padlocks.

Need controlled access with an audit trail? See rekeyable padlocks.
